WHO AM I?
I'm Melissa F. Ventura. I'm an Artist, Designer, & Photographer. I'm a quiet person, but not to a point where I'm fully anti-social. I am in a field that involves communitcation. Most often feel the need to direct people towards a visual solution. I'm an intraverted thinker, an INTP. Google it!
IDENTITY Pete Marriott / Spokeo
Visual identities are developed in order to increase audience recognition and awareness of a specific product, service, or business. A brand can take many forms, including a name, sign, symbol, color combination or slogan.
Book Design Figure Ground Book / Koi fish Book
I really enjoy designing and creating books. I developed this obsession with binding when I was asked to create my first book projects dealing with experimental typography. I called this book Figure Ground. I began to research every aspect of how books are made and would practice techniques by making sketch books & journals.
Packaging Design Product Ad / Wood Package
We were asked to design packaging based on the attributes given to us by another student. We were encouraged to produced unique package designs far beyond the typical box design. This mi fragrance package is made out of a wooden puzzle.
Info Grahpic Tide Prediction Chart / Meebo
Information graphics are graphic visual representations of information, data
or knowledge. The purpose of doing this is to present complex information
quickly & clearly.
Typeface Desgin Typface & Poster
This is typeface was developed based on the characteristics of a famous glass
blowing artist named Dale Chihily. The typeface grid was based on blown glass forms.
Poster Sagmeister Poster / Process Diagram
Most people spend a few minutes looking at a poster before they begin look through charts, graphs, and photos. The trick is to make an eye-catching elements that can
be viewed at a far distance then make someone wants to come up to it and read the
fine print.

A website is a really good way to showcase products and services. So far I've been designing for artists, musicians, and non-profits.
Magazine Layout Cyclocross Magazine
This design is based around an interview with a famous cycloross rider. I designed the cover and the main article of this magazine issue.
Motion Graphic Rhythm Project / Movie title sequence
Motion Graphics is a subset of graphic design in that it uses graphic design principles within video footage. Examples include the typography and graphics you see in movie title sequences.
Rhythm Project
his is a motion graphic created in Adobe After Effect. Music by Mark Mothersbaugh was synchronized with animating lines and shapes.
Movie Title Sequence
For this project we were asked to read a novel and create a movie title sequence based on the story line of the novel.
